We started operation in a village called Juru, Seberang Perai in 1969 as a small trading business buying peppercorn from Sarawak. Over the years we progressed into a company manufacturing and distributing spices especially Sarawak Ground Pepper to sundry shops and markets. Now PENANG TRADING CO. with a sail ship as trademark since 1969 is the first company in Malaysia and many parts of the world to print the percentage of pepper volatile / essential oil on all our pepper products label and had also obtained certification for 100% pure Sarawak Pepper from Accredited Food Laboratory. In November 2008 was selected into Malaysia Herbal Corporation and now our Sarawak Pepper and spices are distributed in hypermarkets and exported worldwide.

With Quality as our guiding principle, it provides a platform for a healthy partnership you can depend on.

All pepper products uses peppercorn specially sourced from Sarawak and we grind it on our own. The percentage of volatile oil determines the quality of pepper; the higher it is the better quality as indicated in our website and company brochures. If you take a trip to supermarkets, low quality ground pepper will have pungent smell like urine and you will notice at the content of their label, it contains a lot of other ingredients. These types are detrimental to our health.

Penang Trading Other Product - Spices
For the spices, we have 70+ types of spices. What is special is our company handpick them to gurantee Quality and pack in eco friendly box.

So if you see the box, you don't have to choose unlike other brand pack in plastic, we still have to choose. But for spices, please take note of the expiry date on the box; we provide 100% pure spices with no chemical enhancer so before the expiry date please use it.

Some spices like jintan putih(cumin), jintan manis(fennel) will change colour and have tiny insects in it after expiry date or kayu manis(cinnamon) will have fungus after expiry date so different spices have different expiry date.
